Anyone have a better tool part site that they like?

Also looking for a replacement PSA Pad for a Makita 4×4 sander hopefully from the same sourcee to avoide more shipping and handling costs.

    Hey Sphere,

Paso Robles Carbide makes them. They also make the Ocemco router bits...

The price list I have makes them $101.27

    I don't think they have a website, but their # is 805-238-4263

You can get a catalog from them or through Pat Warner's website.

Holy Guacamole! I was askeerd of that. I wonder if my sharpening guy can resurrect this one..hmm.

Thanks tho', come Monday I'll give em a ringy dingy.

Now I know why they went to disposable knives.

Ooooh, maybe I can swipe the cutter from my boston pencil sharpener, I made a router bit outta one once, chucked it up in a shaper ( slower speed) and used it to template profile..hmmm again.Spheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

Well I'll be dipped in ....shock. Mostly that a NEW Planer is over 5 smackers!!!  makes the 100.00 cutter seem trivial. Almost.

Thanks for finding that info, looks like the last two are the best bet.

I had the big porter cable hand held planer with the spiral cutter in it.

I sold the planer but still have the cutter. Is that what you are looking for?

I put it in the drawer with my other shaper bits thinking I might use it some day.

        Ya, right!

I'm sorry. I started to send you an e-mail about it and I went to get it and it isn't there. I looked around for it and can't find it.

We moved to %^&* much. My wife thinks nothing of it but it has made life harder for me.

I'm not moving again. If she wants to fine. Send me a post card.

As you can tell this drives me nuts. You might as well not have something if you can't find it.

        Once again I'm sorry.

            Duane

Let me know if Pop doesnt find the cutter, I think I have three of them!

I bought a 126 when the lumber yard that I grew up going to shut the doors. I found two cutters in the box.......................only after I bought a new one thinking that the damn thing didnt come with a cutter!

ON the positive side I bought the 126, the PC mortis jig,  the PC 100 router, and the boring jig for the door knobs all for $225. Also got some redwood that measures 22" wide by 12' long, think there was 14 or 15 of these boards, cant even count the growth rings they're so damn tight, Paid $5 a piece. Was a hell of a sale to say the least.

Sorry, got carried away with the gloat........

            I think he quit looking.

MAn I TOO hit the wood lottery , a farmer up the road had piles of fence poles that he stackes and sells by the 18 wheeler load, all cedar.  I noticed a pile of 12-18" PINE starting to grow along side it, and some REALLY big Cedar like 20" at the butt, with almost NO big indents.

Fri, I had a short day and driving by I see a TiberWolf band mill and a guy in his truck eating lunch, so I swung in to shoot the breeze. Turns out he lives about 4 miles down the road the other way,a nd saws custom, and has LOADS of wood for sale..Sycamore, Sassafrass, Osage, Hickry, Pine, Pop, Maple, Oak and Now 16" wide Cedar! Oh, and cherry 1/4 sawn, and Walnut, Hackberry, Kent. Coffee tree, Ash..AhhhhhI was get a chubby just thinking about it.

Then I met the farmer (finally after 4 yrs here) and he is selling me some posts for .75 a ft.  I need em for my verandah.

The sawn lumber from the mill guy is running 1.00 a BF! ANY of it! 4/4,5/4,6/4.8/4,12/4.16/4 x up to 20' long!

Duane is getting a new living room floor, in the ensuing weeks. Funny thing is I just that morning filled the Van with Oak, Cherry and Maple for that floor ( its complicated but will be cool, like a celtic knot) and my bus gave me a good deal, but now, I think I'll return it or use for something else and start new.

Oh, and, the mill guy bought the mill to make HIS house, 8x8 Poplar logs staked with a 1x between as a chink spacer..AND, needs ME to help him out, due to my vast exp. and he saw my slick and log gouge in the van..LOL

4 miles to work, trade for wood, or cash..PRICELESS!

Me too sorry for the gloat..

Hey, I finally found a tool rest and motor for the lathe..

Lemme know if you can sell me a cutter..PLEASESpheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

I found the box and the cutters.

I'll send you one of them if I can figure out how to get the damn thing off the machine - you cant have either of my two sharp ones!

Actually the one in the planer isn't all that bad, no nicks at least.

My machine is a Rockwell 7-26, cant remember the second digit but it sure looks the same as the 126, I'm assuming that Rockwell had some different no's at one time.

Another funny thing about the box and it's contents. I have a spiral cutter that cuts in the opposite direction as the other three? Cant figure out what that would have been for, wonder if there was another machine out there that had the motor mounted on the other side thus needing a different direction cutter and someone misordered at one time?? don't know but actually I have in my possession 4 cutters - man I gotta look this stuff over better when I buy it!

Send my your addy, I probably have it here somewhere but I  don't have a clue where???

I'll send the cutter out as soon as I get an e-mail.

It really aint all that dull, I see that one of the other cutters has been sharpened and I have my 1/2" spiral carbide cutters sharpened regularly so I think this would be a walk in the bean field.

Wow.  That should be awesome, though I hope you don't have young kids or big dogs - sycamore is a pretty soft wood- between SYP and Douglas Fir on the hardness scale.  Now a floor outta Osage Orange - that stuff would be tough to nail down.  : )

BTW, I found a couple other places (not vouching for 'em) that allegedly have the 126 cutters:http://www.coastaltool.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/a/port/43263.htm?E+coastest

Thanks for the links, I think Doug has me hooked up, ut I could always hit a rock or something.

I think the syc. will be awesome, yup I do have dogs ( medium sized so far) and only the grandkids seldomly here. Syc. is hard enough and actually we want it to get distressed being as its an addition to the log part of the whole picture. The Log part has pretty old Oak on one side and Hickory on the other 4-5" wide all gnarly and beat up.

The plan is to bring the syc home, and rough/hit or miss plane it with my 12 1/2" beater planer, and then either hand plane it , sorta scrub plane but not that severe of a crown in my #4 plane, OR run it thru the 13" 3 knife finish planer at slow..and get it so it can just be orbital sanded..I prefer hand plane, but it depends on the tough ness of the going at it..I've planed  lot of nasty stuff and 250 sqft of syc, don't sound like fun.

Then it goes over 30lb felt that will cover the horrid OSB that was exposed to weather wayyyyy too long before the addition was dried in ( not my doing), perp to the joists. Copper rose head nails exposed and screwed from underneath in the cellar with washer head screws thru the afore mentioned OSB.  The DW wants cut nails I want the copper..we gotta arm wrassel to decide.

No T&G , and before it ever gets laid it gets coated all over with a shellac sealer. Second coat of shellac after it's laid. Beat it up, ding it up, we don't care..it's "Rustic"..LOLSpheramid Enterprises Architectural Woodworks

What do they do with Osage Orange? I've heard of it but dont think I have ever seen it? Maybe I have, not real sure.

I dont know if my wife would kill me if I brought more wood home but I'm not sure I could find a spot for it if I did, place is getting cramped around here, should probably think about using some of it one of these days!

I can see it now, I'll die and my wife and kids will be cussing me for the next ten years as they find more of the stuff stashed in every outbuilding/attic..........

            Doug:

Osage orange is coveted by bowyers among others.   Plane soles, mallet heads, knife scales, turkey calls, etc.  It's about the same hardness as persimmon wood, which was historically used for golf club heads.

It's got a gorgeous golden-orangey color to it.  Check out this link for a good example of the stuff:
