I’ve recently re-injured an old carpel tunnel injury. Has anybody here had the surgery to correct it. And did it actually work without any complications and or side effects? How long were you out of commission after the surgery? I don’t want to have to do this but it’s looking more and more like it’s my best option.
Thanks

carpal tunnel is more a syndrome than an injury singular - has a Dr diagnosed this?
My wife had both wrists done in this past year. how long out of commission depends on what you are doing with it - occasionally wiping your butt or spending the day primping in front of a mirror...?
;)
seems like six weeks each before full use.

Carpel tunnel syndrome is caused by the carpel tunnel not in alignment with the wrist/hand causing pinching of nerves and tendons ect in the wrist. This causes swelling and inflammation of the tissues.
Surgery only opens the tunnel and does nothing to correct the problem only delays it happening again.
Alignment of the joint and strengthening the muscles is the cure.
Check into a chiropractor for the alignment and strengthening. Remember it took some time to get out of alignment and will take some time and work to get back to normal.
Also work with your regular doctor to monitor the progress.
Use the surgery only as a last resort.
This is only my opinion.
Good luck.
