I’m installing carpet in a hallway 39″ x 20′
I’ve got it all cut out and in place but when I use the carpet “chisel” tool to press the carpet back into the corner, I end up raising the carpet in an area about 6 ” away from the wall and it doesent look right
If I pull the carpet out of the corner then it lays flat.
I’m wondering if I put the tack strip TOO CLOSE to the outer wall
It’s about 1/4″ away from the wall.
What am I doing wrong?

It's $10 a yard plush carpet from home D
It needs to be stretched to the walls. Need a kicker and kick it tight so it doesnt pucker.
I am not a carpet installer and you might be able to get better info from some other guys in the group, but that is the deal.
Thanks - appreciate the info
Could you change the title of this thread to "Magic Carpet Ride"Thanks, I tried and couldn't figure out how to do it.
