Anyone used those carpet tiles they sell at Home Depot? The ones that have the odd shape so they supposedly don’t move around.
We need to put carpet down in a playroom, that will have kids running around in it, and vacuumed frequently. Will those carpet tiles really stay in place?

Legato is the brand.
Seems about as expensive as regular carpet, except there is no installation cost (if you do it yourself, of course). Of course, installation is sometimes only $99 (they have a $99 special periodically at my HD) so that's not a huge savings.
I think the advantage is that if you have kids and they wreck a piece you can just replace that one piece and not the whole rug.

I've ordered carpet from them and it's fine for a kids playroom. It's not very thick and the seams are pretty visible unlike Legato carpet panels which hide very well. But for the price, I think it's a good deal. And they don't move or lift with vacuuming, nor will Legato.
I have not seen the ones at HD, but we have used Flor tiles in our own home and they did not move around at all. Each tile has adhesive stickers, but only the perimeter tiles of a "rug" need to stick to the floor. This is the website if you are interested:

We had them shipped, but they may be available in some stores locally. The cool thing about Flor is that if you don't want them anymore, you can send them back and they will recycle the tiles.
Have some in the master bedroom closet - so far, so good. But they showed wear very quickly.
Also have the pricier Flor carpet tiles in living room, office and guest bedroom. Pleased with those, and you return damaged tiles for recycling.
Installation was easy for both , but hard on my knees!
