Does anyone have a wiring diagram for an early 90’s Case 580 backhoe? We have a problem where we have to re-wire one of the relays in the starting circuit and don’t know the assigned color of wires 85, 86, 87, and 30. These wire numbers are stamped on the new relay and we need to determine which is which to hook them up properly.
There was a fire, but I can see the color on the wires if I follow them back far enough.
If anyone has the shop manual and has time to look this up, I’d appreciate it!!

If you have a continuity checker and a 12 volt lantern battery with leads and alligator clips, you should be able to determine what each of the terminals does on the relay. The numbers you mentioned sound like they're from a Bosch relay? I sussed one of those out for a trailer wiring project a few months ago. If it's a Bosch, let me know and I'll try to dig out my notes.
Which model? I've got a D to play with (shop manual included) but I think yours is a couple models newer. The Case dealer will be happy to supply you with a huge shop manual for a little over a hundred bucks. To me, just a small part of the purchase price.
Manual's with the hoe, not here, so can't even try today.

You'll have to register to post the Q. Go to the second to last section for 'construction equip'.
I may be wrong when used in your application, but usually a relays 85 & 30 are hot(B+) with the key on/engine off and 86 is ground
and in the crank position, 87 is B+

Thanks guys!!! I'm headed to the lake to try this. Will be back if I don't succeed!!
The backhoe is re-wired and starting perfectly. Tomrocks and Caveman get to split the reward 50/50 as I used both pieces of information. Thanks again!!
