Price for a 6″x8′ cedar picket is $3.89 and box of ringshank galv. nails are about $90.  Fence has steel poles with 4 pressure treated 2×4’s for rails, all poles and rails are in great shape. 

Original pickets are only 7 years old, but took a beating with 30 min. of golfball size hail.  Tried power washing with 1,700 psi, and they did lighten, but still darker than new.

Can you overlay the older Cedar pickets with new 6″ wide Cedar?

For a lighter stain, just a shade darker than clear/Natural, what product would you use on the new cedar?
