Is stainless steel the only thing GUARANTEED to not stain exterior cedar? That is assuming the cedar (deck railings in this case) are left exposed to New England weather without any protection.
I’ve seen galvy both stain and not stain depending on the tannins (sp?) in the cedar. Is there such a thing as hot dipped finish nails? 16 ga or 15 ga or even 18 ga staples?
Anyone know of a supplier with better deals on SS finish nails for air nailers than McFeely’s has, or is that just the going rate? The two lumber yards I frequent don’t stock much of a variety of SS gun nails.

diesel... try looking for Dajo Sales, Warwick, RI.. they probably have a salesman in your area..
they can get me any fastener on the market....and they deliver.. i got some Hot-Dipped Roofers from Maze from them , collated for my Bostich/Hitachi roofers when we were blind nailing fiber cement..
as to cedar... the only thing i trust besides SS, is old hot dipped.. but it's pretty risky when you don't really know where they're made or to what specs..
it's not like when we used to buy them in wooden kegs ( hey, we really did )..
but for any face nail, on exterior trim , all we use is SS...and the Bostich SS is as good as any of them..
if you need something for a different gun, try looking for Maze.. they assemble nails for every gun
