My home has a cedar shake roof with a rather shallow pitch (one foot in three feet). Being situated in a wooded area, the roof seldom has opportunity to thoroughly dry. Consequently, moss has accumulated resulting in signs of the cedar beginning to rot.
Does anyone have an idea of a means to remove or kill the moss and a method to discourage or prevent further build-up of moss? Also — is there any follow-up system to preserve the cedar shingles?
Thanks!

Copper or zinc strips at the ridge help prevent that green stuff.
No idea what might remove it other than a powerwashing done real carefully from the top down.
