I am about to start a project that reuires the bending of cedar shingles at the bottom of exterior walls. I would appreciate any techniques or tips anyone may have for accomplishing this. Water? Steam? Dry heat? Sheer force. Thanks.

I've no direct experience with shingles, but I have steam-bent wood. You don't mention angles and radii, which are important.
My first thought is that you've got a steam box in your future.
Steam

Radii
The radius is 22".
