I heard a presentation this spring on creating an additional drainage plane behind cedar or log siding by using treated plywood as a type of lath. The back of the cedar would then be finished to assist with the life of the finish. It was mentioned that an article had been written recently on this in Fine Home building.. I did not see it in the back issue index. Any thoughts?
I am planning for cedar and or log siding for my home and it all makes sense. Water finds a way, and I’m trying to make sure it gets back out.
