If a contract says you have 10ft ceilings and the builder puts in drop beams, shouldn’t drop beams lowest point be 10 ft? Mine are at 9ft. Thanks

Not in my world. A ceiling is one thing, a beam is another.
Far be it from me to assume, but I will do so: The drawings that are part of the contract should specify?
NO, the term is "drop beams" hence the beams are "dropped" lower than the finished
ceiling. Pretty straight forward in the terminology.
