There was another system like that floating around the big boxes a few years ago called "Ceiling Max"- it's since disappeared. The system would work fine if everything was perfectly in plane, but as soon as there's even the slightest hump in a joist, the tracks don't interlock, or if they do, the tiles get all wavy.
Bob
It was still there (Watchung, NJ Home Depot) the last time I looked. That was a few months ago.
And yeah, it's either called Ceiling Max or Grid Max.
I installed this system in a basement. It really is a great choice if headroom is the top priority. And like the others said, as long as the joists are "in plane", it comes out just fine.

Looks interesting Paul as long as the ceiling is perfectly flat or you are willing to take the time to shim the tracks to make it flat.
Hope all is well with you.............

Thanks Bob and Eric...
I hear ya about the level issue, in this case it shouldn't be a big concern. The bigger concern is minimizing the loss of headroom.
Things here are... OK Eric... the phone is starting to ring again, but it's been a scary 6 weeks or so for a variety of reasons. Hope things are well with you also (was actually thinking about you the other day). Hope the new gig is still keeping you busy?
All best wishes!

I'd like to make it Eric. I'm sort of in a holding pattern on a job that's awaiting an engineer's drawing and permit that needs to be done ASAP when it finally comes together. If you're gonna be there, let me know when and if I can make it we can meet up for lunch or a libation...
Paul
Plan is we're all meeting in "the lobby" at noon to go to lunch.[email protected]
