LOL
Here is a cell phone that has proven to be very tough. I know a lot of people here have asked from time to time for a tough cell phone.
The guy who tests it on this website reminds me of Buck. And who better to test one ?

I was looking at that phone when I renewed my contract a couple of weeks ago. Almost went for it but man, it's a big phone. It wouldn't fit in my cell phone pocket. It did look really tough though.
If only it had a tracking device if you loose it : (

I recently got a Motorola cell phone that's supposed to be a "farmer's phone". Unfortunately, I can't find a model # on the danged thing.
The instrutions say you can't get it wet at all. But I've found that cell phones work fine if they're inside a ziplock baggie. You can still see the buttons, and you can hear and be heard just fine.
Haven't tried knocking mine around TOO much just yet. But if I do and learn anything I'll let y'all know.
you should market that
the cellphone condom . . . and i'm only kind of kidding
"the cellphone condom . . . and i'm only kind of kidding"There are such things. Google it..

A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
how about that (got this on the first try)
makes me curious what other ideas BossHog has up his sleeve (sorry about the file size . . . for some reason certain attributes are requiring a lot of memory) ;)
I have hear rummors that he is working on a planter and is going grow more of those on the farm..

Is there a cell phone in that picture?I didn't notice one...
If my lips are on fire for you, could I extenguish the flames in your cleavage?
Does it matter?
A 'farmer's phone' that can't get wet?!?! I don't know jack about farming, but I'd guess that you fellas take a soaking now and then, no?
Anyway, if that doesn't work out for you, I've got a Motorola i560 that I do horrible things to and it keeps on working just fine. Yesterday I was installing windows in a house I just finished framing. It was pouring rain, little 8" roof overhangs, and no gutters yet. I looked down at one point and saw it pretty much floating in my tool belt. It worked again by the time I was home and dried off. I've also dropped it from more than one roof. It looks like he11. Doesn't do anything fancy. Is constantly full of sawdust. But it does keep making phone calls for me. View Image

Not much of a phone then is it. ;)
I recently bought one of those phones. It IS big, but otherwise a very nice phone. I showed it to a customer who works in the electronics field and he drooled over the solid feel. The flip hinge feels like it came off a vault.
It is less fancy than the Motorola i560 but it does everything I want, and it should survive better than most phones. One plus of being big is that the buttons are easy to press one at a time, and the screen is big. It is made by Casio, a firm that exemplifies Japanese quality, like Toyota and Panasonic, to name 3.

Interesting point you made there.
Why is it that cell phone manufacturers all seem to think that all cell phone users are9 YO kids, with tiny fingers and perfect eyesight?
They need to make one for middle aged guys with big hands and poor eyesight.
Unquestionably, there is progress. The average American now pays out twice as much in taxes as he formerly got in wages. [H.L. Mencken]
You know, if I could "unlock" that from verizon, I might even consider getting one myself. If I could make a TracFone out of it, I'd be sold. But I'd probably heavily consider it if all I could do was unlock it from verizon, and use it on Sprint.

I have been drooling for that phone for awhile but wanted bluetooth for my truck. Well May 1 the wait is over:

And the Japanese version is even cooler:

well ...
I could provide an extended toddler test ...
with a cross between a UFC Fighting 5 year old and baby slobber ...
and we even have a good asortment of rubber duckies too!
good timing ... just last night I was looking online at new phones.
been needing one for a while ... the old Sprint Sanyo is still ticking ...
but the voice dial doesn't work anymore ... and I'm missing the antenna.
and pretty much twice a day each day last week it fell outta the worn out holster and bounced across driveways and down deck stairs ... works fine after the battery is tracked down and reinstalled.
I did like the NFL helmet facemask attached to that phone in the one pic.
I'm actually pretty easy on my phones ... stays clipped to my side pocket ... I use the flattest/tighest holster I can find ... so the phone doesn't stick out and scratch cabinets and such ... and usually when I'm working outside in a blizzard or mudpit ... I leave it in the truck or in my lunch cooler.
Pretty much work every tool I have harder than the phone ... it's pampered.

Exactly why I thought of you.=0)I could see your eyes lighting up and you saying. "oooooo military specs for abuse";o)Could also see you handing the phone to the kids and saying, here, play with this for a while. Just to see if the phone could take the abuse. LOLOf course, I'd have been right there encouraging you to stick it in the oven and then flush it down the toidy. he he he

true phone story ...
current phone, actually.
had it just a coupla months.
Corey liked to play with it ... so in restraunts ... as a last resort ... I'd just hand him the phone in hopes of actually being able to finish a meal.
so one day ... I realize my "voice dial" doesn't work.
which was a big pain ... as I use travel time to make phone calls ... and I hate other distracted drivers ... so I'd hate myself if I had to dial and drive.
way easier to push one button and yell into the phone.
take the phone to a sprint store ... sales guy ... no luck.
have to leave it for a tech. Coupla hrs later ... no luck.
they tell me they'll have to order a new phone. Can't solve the problem.
so I take it home and wait.
new phone comes vis FedEx. All ready to go.
They were suppsoed to provide a "mail back" box ... but didn't.
I called ... they said just throw it away.
so ... thinking I got a new kids toy ... I start "deprograming" it ...
empty the addy book, etc.
for some reason ... before I take and toss the battery ... I fire it up one last time and run thru the menu.
See a part I hadn't seen before ... see something about "voicedial" ... and change the setting.
reprogram it ... and it voice dialed!
worked just fine.
so ... I call to see if I can have this one programmed as Cath's ... as she's on my same plan. Yup ... no problem. I tell the guy the story ... he feels dumb for Sprint ...
so no programing fee either. Cath got a phone upgrade for free!
Guess at one point ... Corey got his fingers on the buttons ... and unprogramed the voice dial in the very first place. Shoulda gave it back to him instead of the sprint tech.
