Hi all,
I have a client who is inquiring about ceramic paint coatings for their upcoming exterior paint job, namely Nisby “Flex-Coat”. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this kind of product. I understand its claims, I am just not sure how this compares to the adhesion ,durability and finish of an high end exterior paint with proper preparation.
Is there enough historical knowledge to evaluate this kind of product? If so, are there any conclusions I can draw for my client?
Looking for help in the space age,
Steve

Sorry,
I don't understand what you mean when you say "Bump".

Just a way of get ing your post back to the top of the discussion list, so someone that knows something about may see it. Without an occasional bump a question may go out of site on the list before the guys that know something about get to see it.
thanks

worked on a barn where they "ceramic painted" the main house.
all I know is it's a million times more expensive than a great coat of good paint ...
and looks worn from day one.
prep took forever ... they got some overspray in parts that had to be heat gun'd, scraped and finally hit with a grinder ... and brought back to raw wood ... so they could try again.
might last forever ... but certainly didn't "gleam" like the 3 coats primer / 2 top coats we put on the old barn for a fraction of the cost.
have no idea what brand it was. Took a little interrest till I saw, and was underimpressed, with the final results.

Thanks Jeff,
I am fairly skeptical of newer products until they build some history. I was expecting that someone would have an experience like yours.
I wonder if anybody has had a positive experience. I am also wondering if there is a painter's forum I could pose this question to as well.
