Certainteed half round vinyl shingles…
I am installing a few courses of these shingles in the upper part of a gable wall. I used D7 perfection shingles below. I snapped the half round courses in place to start, but I am having trouble figuring out how to cut the next courses, with the gable angle, and have the courses stagger over one another. I downloaded all the instructions from Certainteed but they are just confusing me. Does anybody have any advice?

Find the center point of the panel below the one your installing. Measure from the start point to the center of that same panel...half rounds you start the course from the left IIRC. Then measure straight up at each end...the start and center point--which would be the end of the panel your installing.
In other words, say the start point had a rise of 6" and the center point rise was 12". If the length of the panel needs to be 24", cut that length and then mark one end 6" up and the other 12". Draw a line connecting them and cut away.
I've upped my standards...so up yours
thanks for the input but I'm still confused. Do you have a picture or diagram? I'm having trouble determining where to start cutting the angle for the gable and the subsequent cuts of the above courses because each course has to lock in to the one below, and the shingles have to be staggered.
