Painting my daughter’s room and on one wall I am thinking about chalkboard paint. Any recommendations/opinions pro or con. I am thinking of just getting a used chalk board instead.
Thanks for your responses in advance.

There's a constant source of clean water for you to use, and all you have to do is collect it.

I think a chalk board would be a better idea. I imagine a chalk board would be a better surface to draw on. I don't think there would be many problems with chalk board paint, other than covering it up afterwords.
I wouldn't put the paint directly on a drywall surface, but rather on a piece of plywood or (better) smooth-surfaced hardboard. Drawing on the surface is apt to produce enough pressure to dent the drywall.
One can make any paint into a chalkboard paint by simply adding pumice. Some simple experiments will determine the proportion. It's been more than a few years since I did this... I don't remember the proportion I used. Different paints will give varying results. You'll want a hard paint like an enamel. Although you'll not want anything with gloss. Using another dark color other than black may make the room a bit more lively.
Doing a major part of the wall will prove liberating to the chalk artist. And I agree on not painting the drywall. A harder surface is better. Use mdf or tempered hardboard.
Source your chalk first. I understand that the old 1/2" diameter sticks are not all that easy to come by these days.
We just bought a house that has one face of one door painted with that stuff.
It's a cheap hollow core luan door. Seemed to work pretty well.
Might be an option for you if your doors are flush. (Flat)
Magnetic Paint
Undercoat it with magnetic paint so she can stick stuff to it, too.
