The ex-garage in the split level we live in was finished when the new garage and breezeway was built years ago.
For whatever reason, the only way to turn on the 8 wall lights is a 2 way switch in the family room. There’s no switch next to the door entering from the outside (the door used 95% of the time).
I was thinking of disconnecting the current 2 way, running a 2 wire line to a new box by the door, then a 3 wire back to a 3 way where the old switch was.
I’ll run the wires behind the molding (it’s a drywall ceiling too).
Will this work? Am I overcrowding the original box?
Thanks,
Rich
