Getting ready to do some tile in the not-so-distant future. Any recommends on cheap (okay, relatively cheap) purveyors of Schluter’s Ditra & Kerdi membranes?
Thanks.

Few people understand it. Nobody agrees what it is, how to learn about it, or who's responsible for it. It has never been more important

Best prices I've found, but I haven't price-shopped for several months.

What Mongo said. I researched it to death and he's got it right.

Cool bench Andy.... are you going to use 1x1's on the curved part?
Kevin
mosaics of some kind...yeh..Tumbled marble 3x6 and 4x4's on walls and ceiling and mosaics on the floor and up the curve onto the foot stool I think. I'd love to use the 1x2's but the 1x1's are less expensive and I am selling this place in a year or two so....other wise I'd use some glass tile. I'd love to try some of that.

Andy, I followed your post at the John Bridge site, I see you are going with the pre-formed base. Looks like its going to be a great job. Love to see some pics as it develops, I have the same type of project going. Thanks for posting....
thanks ernie...yeh,,,Kerdi tomorrow and going out to buy some tile then too. Its a small job but its my first Kerdi job...first PEX job too.
Lots of new (1st time) projects in this house (se my website ..its my
Goose Hill Rd house...circa:1680). Lotta experimenting here being its my own house. I'm kinda like my own Consumer Reports but better cause I'm actually living in it. Some of my wide plank pine floors I used PL Premium under in some rooms...some not. Some craaks inbetween the planks old and new I used Bondo some I used Elmers fillers. blah blah blah
Trying a whole lot of different testings here...just because.

You bet Andy, I know the feeling. The project looks great and the website turned out pretty sharp IMHO.
BTW, did you do the backsplash in the kitchen pic on the website (Goose Hill). Very nice!

That has got to be the sloppiest paint job on sash I have ever seen.
LOL..I do all my windows that way! On purpose. Takes me literally five seconds per pane to scrape off and it seals all the sashes. Much faster than cutting in and way better!

I agree, although mine may not be intentional...the shakes from all that good livin' in the Marine Corps! Besides, isn't that distressed?
The only thing you need to remember is to use a new sharp blade often so you don't scratch the glass and to use the right scraper...not those square ones but rather the black plastic ones shaped like the letter Y.
The plade goes in the top part of the Y amd the corners of the blade (same blade that goes in your sheetrock knife) stick out the edges and get right up tight to all the edges unlike those netal rectangle scrapers.
Distressed? I'm always distressed...lol. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...I thought you said depressed...lol

Andy-
Have you looked at the mosaic tiles on this site: http://www.mosaic-tile.com
They've got good prices, from $6-$12 a foot, free shipping over $50.
Small tiles though, I think they're mostly 3/4".

I did a 'buy it now' off of ebay and beat tilestore.com by like $50. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and delivered three days after I ordered it.
