i have had the need for a chinking sub three times this year, and wasn’t impressed by any of them. does anyone have experience with chinking machines or know the time difference to do it by hand?

Ummmm. I don't think we say "ch*nk" anymore - I even got in trouble in SF for saying "Oriental".

chinking is the silicon base material you put in between logs on a log house.
Watched a guy do one once with a machine, seemed to go pretty fast. Still had to hand tool it, used foamy brushes and a large pail of water
