I'm a lefty and used a worm drive (blade on the left) Skill saw for years. You can get used to it.
But now I buy saws with the blade on the "right" side.
Today I was pushing a left bladed saw with both hands. Burnt up one saw and got out the new one. Cutting 2" flagstone or concrete with a diamond blade is hard on saws so I but the cheapest I can.
You might want to have a couple of saws eventually. That would take some stress out of getting the "right" one the first time.
My favorite right now is the 18V li ion Makita. It comes in left or right blade.

there is not right or wrong. It is simply up to what you like and feel comfortable with.
I'm a righty and like to see the blade so I use the blade on the left.
I'm an old fogey so my choice is to use the lightest saw I can find with the blade on the right because I like to hold the saw with my right hand and rest the saw plate on the piece I'm holding with my left hand. Right now it's a PC 19 volt 6" which I've been hoping would burn out or just quit so I could buy a newer model but it just keeps on going.
For exactly the reason DDay said. Except for you blade should be on the right.
I'm left handed and thats why I like the blade right saws, I can see the blade.

I use both a right and left saw. Left is a PC because that's what I am used too and a Mil. tilt saw when useing a right. Left saw helps me cut straighter, or so the guys say when I cut ply!>G<
