Anyone know of a field applied pre-made cladding for wood door frames?
My door supplier told me that a client of his saw it in the Cleveland area on new construction.

John, I was going to respond earlier but since I hadn't really seen anything like that, felt it unnecessary. I do know that most guys with a brake can and do bend up aftermarket pcs./parts. Same goes with brickmould covers.
However, if I were looking for information I would call Modern Builders Supply here in Toledo. I would ask for Nicole. She is a pretty sharp, good looking rep. She might not remember my name, but would surely remember my smiling face and witty personality. Her number would be 800-783-3961/419-241-3961
Really, anyone who answers the phone can help you out with an answer, but why not be comfortable. They are in the region, might even be in Indiana. Check it out.

Thanks for the reply. There is an MBS here but if Nicole may be worth the drive. I'll check them out.
Thanks,

Clad applied after - I dunno.
But I just had a double door set installed with a clad frame as well as the bottom 12" of the jamb being a composite, like Trex. Finger jointed into the wood part.

We applied copper to the windows of the last house. So far, great. Client chose pine, I wanted walnut.PAHS Designer/Builder- Bury it!

My product was just like this. I got the door and jambs from Rycenga's in Grand Haven, MI. A real building supplier. They have a contractor department that handles real doors.
I'm sure most REAL door companies would have the product or be able to get it.
That no-rot bottom end is a standard exterior doorframe option just about everywhere, and has been available for almost ten years now.
Thanks for the info. I do get my doors from a REAL supplier not a Big Box. I'll have to ask them if they offer this option or change suppliers. I followed the link you gave and know those guys but do not deal with them. I may have to start.
Thanks,John
