Anybody has any sugestions regarding cleaning off red pine logs in and outside in a 8 year old log cabin shell. The logs are partially covered in mildew, stain, varnish and left over innner bark. Some body tried to soda blast it clean but did a subpar job.
The owners are asthmatic and afraid of sillica particles, but want the clear pine look back as much as possible. Any other blasting or sanding techniques that any of you know about or is soda blasting ‘the’ route to go

Ground walnut shells or corn cobs are what the log manufactures recommend.
Thanks a lot , my next step i guess is finding someone who can do that or has the equipement and material for sale/rent . I'm living and working in the Muskoka's , Central Ontario,Canada I'm sure my client likes the idea of ground corn or walnut shells a hell of a lot better. Thanks again
Perma-Chink rents the compresser and gun, and sells the blast media. I dunno about in Canada, but I know there is one in Knoxville, Tn. USA.
Saw a Holmes on Homes show recently, they used dry ice pellets in a sand blaster .. you have to see it to believe it .. very impressive ..
