Being I am not a carpenter, wanted to know-Are these still allowed in Jersey-
I don’t use my gun alot, mostly interior stud walls in basements and reframing closets.
I really don’t want to have to spend the money on a full head if I can avoid it.

There are a number of ways to achieve a level foundation and mudsill.

I think so, but you should call your local building department to make sure.
I have a Senco round head, and a Paslode Impulse clip head. Both get used. No inspector has said anything, yet.
I think the idea with the full round head is that it gives more withdrawal strength in areas that get high winds. But it also assumes that they aren't over driven thru the sheathing.
