I visited a customer’s house and had to go into the basement. The ceiling of the basement was completly covered with ccSPF including rim joist area. The majority of the basement had a cement floor but where an addition was added the crawl space under it had only a dirt floor. All spaces were connected.
I am wondering if this was a good idea to spray foam under the living space floor. It seems to me it would not allow the basement to “breath” therefore contributing to mold growth and dampness.
Should the foam have been covered by sheetrock? Is it flamable?
Your thoughts please!
