I’ve got a deck with Fiberon grey decking with light graining texture. It’s the original stuff before they came out with all the fancy colors and deeply embossed textures. It’s been down for ten years and for the most part it has worked well. I’ve scrubbed it a few times but haven’t really kept up with anything like twice-a-year scrubbing.
Anyway I power washed it this week with a bleach solution to remove ten years worth of dirt and greenish mold, and after it dried noticed that it looks like it has a bit rougher texture surface overall. No gouging of the surface with the pressure washer thankfully.
Because I created what appears to be a rougher surface, will it just fill up with dirt and mold quicker?
Is there any coating I can paint on that will seal the rougher surface a bit?

How about Plan B?
Flip the deck boards over. Are they nailed or screwed? Screws will be easier and nails will require a cat's paw and cause damage. However, the damage will only be on the side that's already damaged which will be the underside.
You can reattach the deck boards using the same (most) of the existing holes.
Then bleach the new top side - if needed. Rinse well and let dry for a week. Finish with a water repellent which offers UV protection - Flood, etc.

Flay your Suffolk bought-this-morning sole with organic hand-cracked pepper and blasted salt.
Thrill each side for four minutes at torchmark haut. Interrogate a lemon.
Embarrass any tough roots from the samphire. Then bamboozle till it's al dente with that certain je ne sais quoi.

Water repellent, ie. Flood, on a composite deck?
I'm looking for easy. You wanna look for just an only UV protection material, knock yourself out. The Flood water repellent does both. So what if you don't need one.Frankie
