Cold floor over unheated garage
I have a unheated garage with the living room above (cold floor). I was given 10 sheets of 4X8 4″ foam panels. Can I remove the drywall from the ceiling, remove the R-13 FG insulation, then rip the foam to 13.5″ and place them between the joist and against the bottom of the floor above and then use some spray foam on the sides to seal them against the joists. I know it would be allot of work but I want warmer floors. Any ideas?

I'd be sore tempted to just apply the foam to the existing ceiling, and cover that with GWB on long long piffin screws. A little bit less effort as there's no tear down of the existing GWB or playing with the FG. You only lose a few inches of garage clear height, but gain the R-16 that the foam will likely be.
At least, that's how I'd be tempted.
Like Capt said but open up the ends and seal up to the outer walls, don't forget you need to firerate the ceiling when you patch or replace.
