So I’ve got a problem with the ac, and I have been collecting the water in a garbage can, I’ll be replacing the PVC pipe this week. As a result, I have been emptying the can and was amazed at how much water was produced when the AC was running. Got me thinking, there’s got to be a way to use this water for the garden. Did a search and found this:
Anybody here have experience with collection of this water?

yeah, mine pumps out into a watering can that I use to water my wife's flowers every afternoon when I get home. If it overflows during the day (which it never has) It's into a flower bed anyway, so I'm not worried about it. I feel better watering the flowers knowing that I don't have to turn on the hose.
We run one drain line into the yard.
DW's even taken to bathing the kids in the big tub upstairs; siphoning that water down into the yard as well.

Since it's distilled water, I have collected it to use in car batteries (when it used to be necessry to top them off occasionally) and for the clothes iron (when I used to wear clothes that needed ironing). A gallon used to go a long ways.
Here is my trick. Pipe it out into a planting bead and plant something that likes moisture. Hydrangeas are one plant that fits the bill. See pic.
I've thought a lot about collecting rainwater, etc, for irrigation purposes, the problem is that sizable cisterns are fairly expensive. I'll do it as soon as I get some disposable income.
