Coloring concrete – what is fast and easy
I will be adding on to an existing slab in my ‘basement’. I would like to color the old and new slab so they look about the same. I intend to smooth or polish the new slab and to use that as the finished surface (instead of tiling). What are my options?

It is tough to make new concrete look old and have it stay that way but if you just want color, look at acid staining.
If you want fast and easy, then use paint. If you want a nice product then look into dyes, stains, etc. You will be making numerous tests samples, keeping notes, and generally learning as you go. It is neither fast nor easy to color concrete. Polishing adds another layer of complexity.
