I am thinking of making this front door, nominally 3/6 wide by 6/8 high by 2-1/4 thick. Construction will be as shown in the pics. I’ll get a gallon of West System boat builder’s epoxy and cold-lam the whole thing up. The large central lower panel will be a sandwich of 1/4″ MDO on the outside, 1/4″ maple veneer plywood on the inside, both bonded to a rigid 3/4″ foam core. Outside of door is painted, thus the cedar and MDO. Inside faces of door are maple to complement the interior millwork. It will be a heavy booger, and I plan to use (4) 4-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ ball-bearing hinges. Comments, please?
