compound miter saw 27 lbs or under

I’m tired of lugging my 53lb Bosch SCMS out of the van to make a few miter cuts or having to walk outside to the saw and back for every cut when doing base and case.
What small, light (ideally half the weight of my Bosch or less) compound miter saw or SCMS do you guys like?

Just for the sake of portability, I've been thinking about this one for some time now

This looks like a nice saw for the money, 27 #'s too.
I have the Hitachi 10" slider and really like it (but it is only 10#'s lighter than your Bosch).

Bruce,
You know you loved that saw.
All those bells and whistles.
"Crew-served weapon," ToolBear called it.
Needs a trailer.
Problem with the big ones - getting as big as the old radial arm saws. Getting to your back?
Well, there is my WorkFarce chopsawette, used for cutting blocks and such. Fits nealty into the end of TB's custom cutter bench of heart redwood and Baltic ply. But that would be way down-market. You need to style.
I think you might like the Makita 27# slide saw -
LS0714, Makita 7.5" Four Pole Slide Compound Miter Saw at 27.6#.
2x12 at 90, 2x8 at 45
Thought Habbie should have gotten a few, but try to tell them anything. Not Invented Here.

I actually have that one from Sears. It's no heavier than a 7 1/4" sidewinder. It's quite accurate but the trouble is, it doesn't have a handle to move it to the miter positions. You have to push on the saw itself. It really is good though for taking upstairs to trim out a small room or so. You just can't believe how light it is. Has a laser too.I have the DW scms 12" 718 and it's a good saw but yes, its' big and heavy (not as heavy as the Bosch or others). But the saw I use the most is the 12" DW 705 cms. That does 90% of all my trimming and it's not that bad to lug around. Also have a 10" Hitachi cms, but I don't like it's performance as much as the DW..
I have looked at the sears for a while now, I think it would support my cabinet installations nicely. I just can't spend the dime when I have 3 other saws, a Dw 708, a DW 705, and an ancient Skil 10" chopsaw that 's gotta weigh in at a 100#, but it won't die._______________________________________________________________

Interesting. I will take a look when my WorkFarce splits up it's ball bearing. (I think it has one. It does have a nifty Death Rattle - like three bolts in a dryer.)
Of course, it means double the money. The ToolBear

Bruce,
I've got the same issue, I'm thinking of getting this. 30lbs and cordless
http://bosch.cpotools.com/saws/miter_saws/3918_spec.html
I have the Bosch 24volt cordless and it's handy as heck. It's designed to run off of the 18volt batteries as well. Easy to carry around for sure. It'll cut through 2x4's no problem and will handle any trim job short of crown or tall base with ease.I have the Dewalt 718, and only bring that along when I'm doing a bunch of stuff.I bought an extra set of the Dewaly saw clamps so I have a set mounted on both saws at all times.JT
I have the 10" Bosch slider in a permanent Rousseau set up in my shop. I got sick of the haul, too. So I got the Dewalt 703, and it has been dead on. I got the brackets for the crown moulding and have never looked back. I think it's just shy of 30 lbs, but it's piece of cake. I just used it Sat on a handrail install and it was drop dead on the money. I'm gonna get come pics up when I get the chance.
