I’m trying to make a purchase decision as we speak…
It seems to me that all other things being equal — say comparing a $500 sliding CMS to a $300 non-sliding CMS — the non-slider would be inherently more precise, because of the slider’s additional moving parts, longer arm, stuff like that.
Yet in the zillions of comments here and elsewhere about the two types of saws, I have yet to see any mention of such a general tradeoff. Is it really a non-issue?
