Howdy, Looking for a computer program that has informationn on how to layout a foundation, framing plans, electrical, plumbing and roofing. I’m wanting to do a major remodel of my 2 bedroom home and I thought this would be a good way to start designing my plans. Thanks for your suggestions.

There are CAD type programs that will help in the DESIGN, most in things like floor plans and elevations.
But they really don't get into the things like footings or where to run the plumbing.
Both Taunton and JLC have CD roms with a lot of articles from back issues that cover those types of things.
Something like softplan could do basically what you're looking for, but you're going to need a class to figure out how to run it and something like $3K for the software. Enter the justification to consult someone who does this for a living - translate your post it sketches into a buildable plan.

Hi, R,
The way you put this is asking for something that does not exist in a homeowner's level. Amnd it takes a lot of training to know construction to be able to design and build. Not sure what you background or emphasis is here, but it sounds liek you could benefit from a course at your local tech or trade school.
The CAD programs are only tools. You still have to know what you want to tell it where to put the lines. No program will think for you.
