I just bought Sierra's Complete Land Designer. I'm not sure if it qualifies for professinal use. You can scan a picture of the house and build a 3D deck, design landscaping (it shows growth over time),etc, and it does figure in materials. I'm impressed.

*Softplan does all that and much much more. Not cheap but reputed to be the best available. A liteversion is also available but the 3D renderingleaves alot to be desired. If you can find a copyof Version 9 Lite for sale, you get a real big bang for your buck. Contact softplan.com and maybethey can help.

I agree with Phil Softplan is a very powerfull tool for the PROFESSIONAL
*I've used softplan for about 4 years now !A very powerfull system but not very geared to decks. If your looking for deck drawings only don't waste your money you'll be disappointed. For a remodeler doing additions its excellent!
