I have noticed that in my attic, there are very few nails penetrating the 1/2″ roof sheathing. Shouldn’t I see considerable nails where the roofing was installed, or do those type of roof products just get stationed on grids and lay there loose in an interlocking fashion? GW

Many concrete and clay tiles are designed with a catch liup at the top edge. The installation is done of 2x2 sleepers which are themselves nailed down, The lip on the concrete tile hangs over the top edge of the 2x2 and gravity does the rest. The only nails used are to fasten the 2x2 to the rqfters and to hold the tarpaper on under the 2x2s.
