Hi
I am new to this forum, but I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on finishing concrete posts.
The issue is that we poured quite a few (53) 8 inch concrete sonotubes for our new fence. We poured full height (around 8 feet) and put 4 pieces of 3/8 rebar in each.
The issue is that we used the exposed aggregate prep spray to surface the inside, but it appears that we didn’t spray enough. We also vibrated which I found out is a no-no with exposed aggregate.
So the end result is that alot of the cream went to the outside and we only have patches of exposed aggregate.
On the good side our lay out was pretty good and we are happy with the height and how the posts sit.
The main issue is the appearance, I was thinking of putting a skim coat of portland mix and then maybe a coat of teck stone or stucco or some other finish.
Any ideas? I appreciate any input.
Cheers,

Ardex CD, or CD Fine. trowel it on, broom it, seal it and your done. this is good stuff, i use it on all my repair work.
HiThanks for your input, I looked at the product and it appears that it has to be around 50 degrees to apply, it is almost snowing here so I think I will place the panels and wait until spring to re-surface.We formed in a key way and are using vinyl panels which we are just sliding in.So far it is working great. Thanks for your help
