Question for some people that just had some concrete foundations put in
I want to build a 16×20 (rough size TBD) work shed outside my home and want to construct on top of 4″ of concrete.
Does anyone know approx how much it would cost to have someone come in build the forms and pour the concrete and set anchor bolts? And if you were to do this yourself (I have a cement mixer that goes on my tractor) how many people can I count on needing to float the floor?

around here about 6-7.00 a sq ft for a mono pour garage floor with the excavation all done and ready. if you do it all yourself i'd forget the cement mixer, it's to hard to keep it all wet and workable in that much sq footage. get about 3 guys and have a ready mix truck come in. in about 1 1/2 hours you will have it floated off and 2 guys could probably handle troweling and edge it from there. heres my 2 cents worth- my shop floor is the most important part of the shop, the rest just keeps rain off my head. i want a really nice slick floor to work on and keep clean. if you have any doubts hire this part done.i just had a 1600 sq floor poured 3 weeks ago. i absolutly had everything ready [guys showed up 10 mins before truck] they poured and power troweled it slick for 800.00. best 800 i could spend. larry
hand me the chainsaw, i need to trim the casing just a hair.
Thanks for the response
Do you cover the concrete or is that the floor in the work shop
nothing on the floor, just slick concrete.once you have a rough floor in a shop, you appreciate a slick floor. larryhand me the chainsaw, i need to trim the casing just a hair.
three people can do it. It will take about 5 yard depending on footers, and you be stupid to mix five yard in a mixer, it be alot cheaper to call a ready mix. you could not mix quick enough to pour five yards before it start setting up.
how much is a good cost per yard
