My garage floor is 8″ of reinforced concrete (house was originally built by an engineer), structurally very sound, but with a finish from amateur night – Water puddles in winter and also flows to the perimeter. A 1″ to 2″ overlay would solve my problems and would allow drainage to the central sump BUT obviously I am concerned about bonding to the existing concrete as well as insuring the structural integrity of the overlaid concrete. I live in a rural area without access to newer methods(scarifier, etc.) of roughing existing surface. Would appreciate help on 1)preparing existing surface. 2)Insuring bond between new concrete and old 3) Concrete mix and additives for a thin (1″ – 2″) overlay. Not asking for much am I!!!
