Howdy Folks,
I’m wondering if anyone knows of a good on-line reource for help designing a concrete pier system for a large cabin that I’m about to start building. I’ve searched all over the place, but can’t find any engineering data that would help me know what diameter and what reinforcing materials to use. I could just swag it, but I hate to do that. If I could just find some code info somewhere I’d feel much better.
Any ideas?

Yes, you could just wing it, but there is a reason those engineers learn all that math. Do you know the composition of your soil? Can you calculate the footer spread to support the expected weight of the structure? Do you know the expected weight? Do you know your frost depth? Can you calculate the weight required and fasteners needed to counteract uplift and seismic loads? It's not in just one convenient place.
Dollars well spent and an engineering stamp most likely required by your permitting entity.
