Are the concrete resurfacer products any good?
I’m looking to use it on an old splotchy looking pool deck. There aren’t any major chips and it only has a few hair line cracks.
Is there some “pro” trick using something like portland cement and latex additive instead of the prepackaged resurfacing products?
Thanks

The guys to find to do those jobs were to do municipal curbs and gutters, they would trowel on a finish after stripping the forms.
HD has Cement-All that is used for patching. The "secret" is the prep the surface by water blasting, then flood and soak the old concrete so that it won't absorb anymore water. Remove any standing water, then trowel on the mix. Get a portable shade to keep the sun from hitting it. Finish and texture according to taste.
Deck has been pressure washed. Good tip about wetting the concrete first! Thanks
Hi, Mclaren here.
When resurfacing concrete you definietley want a saturated
surface dry (ssd). A latex additive will help with bonding,
sometimes a slurry scrub coat is recommended with the material
placed while the slurry is still wet.
If you are concerned with appearance after the repair consider
a breathable concrete coating with a light texture, such as STO concrete
coating or Thorocoat F74, goes on with a roller, can be tinted
to a variety of colors and provides a little extra traction.
Good luck!
