I am in the planning stages of an addition to my old house. I would like to do the first floor with a slab for various reasons. I plan on using 3/4 t&g on the floor but am concerned about the hard feeling on the back and feet from the slab.
My plan would be to double plate the bottom wall plates and install 2x lumber flat on top of the slab with plywood installed on top of these “joists”. Hopefully this should provide a softer feel. Any thoughts or suggestions?

The slab will give off moisture for a long time -- a year or more. Wait as long as you can before putting your final floor down, and cover the slab in plastic just before you do.
