how do I go about insulating over a tile on slab floor? is there some sort of thin insulation that can be put down on top of the existing(uninsulated) slab- we have major moisture problems in the summer.and frozen toes in the winter. If I do insulate, will I have problems with the baseboard and sheetrock and studs etc. staying moist-Any suggestions….Hazel8

Wool rugs and slippers?
The slab can be losing heat thru three ways. You could slow two of them by digging down around the perimeter outside and placing 1-1/2" or 2" DOW foam boards against the edge, vertically. That would slow conduction and radiant heat loss at edges but not down into the earth, which in many places maintains about 55°F
But the greatest source of your discomfort, I suspect, could be from convection heat loss.
A slab on grade construction is more common in the south, especially when it was done with no insulation to begin with. that leads me to assume that you have other deficiencies common diown south, allowing drafts to penetrate, and that cold air settles to the floor, to make you uncomfortable. For instance, youmight have block walls, and aluminum windows with no insulated glass, both of which wil feel cold, and the cooler air near them sinks to the floor.
So maybe you could say more about the whole house to learn how to deal with the entire package.
