Anybody used this book/cd?
I just got it in the mail, in preparation for an upcoming move and a shift from mostly being a sub to GC’s to being more of a GC myself. At first glance it looks like a great bunch of information. I suppose the thing to do is have a local attorney look over any contracts you plan to use?

That is a good idea, but I didn't do it.
A friend of mind is a GC here, and had a local attorney draw up his agreement. We compared the samples in the "Legal Kit" to his language and agreed there was much more covered in the book's samples, than in what his lawyer did for him.
I have it and use it just as you're planning on Mike. My attorney was even impressed with aspects of it and I got some great heads up advice on issues I'd never considered. A great investment IMHO.
I have the book/CD and like it. A few items from the samples made it into my contract, and I think his take on contracts is very practical, so read the book rather than just clipping from the CD. I also used stuff taken from other GC contracts (some from guys I know, some from guys here and on JLC), stuff from David Gerstel's book, stuff I wanted to include, and a couple of items from my attorney, who reviewed the whole thing after I assembled all the parts I wanted. Be sure that you understand and include whatever is required by your state... lots of states have specifics regarding pre-lien disclosure, warranty, payment schedule, etc.
Got it, like it, use it frequently. Even used the promisary note once. Great value. DanT
Just curious if this is the book you are reffering to?
That's the one. I think it was $60 from Amazon.
I've read Gerstel's book about a hundred times, Michael Stone's a couple of times, figured this was the next step.
I would appreciate titles of the books by the other two authors you mention
I really need to get around to some reading and acting on it
Shoe, these two books are frequently mentioned by guys here, on the JLC forum, and in other business books:

I need to remember the trick for making pretty-looking links. A>ref or something like that.
Thanks Mike

I had to notice the last reference in demand that the same people bought the contractors legal book. I question it . I seriouly doubt it.

Yeah, I'm not sure where they come up with that either.
I tried cuting that portion of my post, but, it seemed I either had to cut the whole thing I pasted or none.
