I’m starting new home construction soon and am looking for good and reliable building material suppliers. I’ve decided on a copper roof and was wondering if anyone here might be able to suggest reliable and reasonable suppliers (preferably in the southeast i.e. – Biloxi MS area). Other than Zappone I haven’t seen any other companies mentioned. Thanks in advance to who all who write in.

They are our gurus of copper - they will eventually see your post, if we keep it appearing by posting, & you will get some great info.

OK Kate - thanks. Not quite sure what to think of your "gurus," though. I did a Google search on Seeyou and Sphere and you wouldn't believe what came up. I've found legitimate suppliers in Vermont and Ohio, and even one in British Columbia, but they're all a bit too far off.
p.s. - In an interesting side note, though, I was wondering about the Alabama countryside yesterday looking for a Ferguson (kitchen/bath) showroom and stopped by a large warehouse out in the middle of nowhere to ask for directions. It turned out to be a family owned business. The only person there was a middle aged lady. I was curious and asked what kind of business they were in and she started bragging about the work her husband and sons did. She then pointed to one of the counter tops. It was covered in copper! I couldn't believe it. They were professional roofers who traveled all over the country! She took me to the back of the warehouse and it looked like a mid-sized machine shop in the middle of the Superdome (it was a big warehouse). It had a number of large rolls of different kinds of sheet metal. They pressed, cut, and manufactured their own shingles! So, my search might be over. Haven't had a chance to call them back, yet, but they might not be interested anyway. My job is probably small potatoes compared to what they do.

Thanks brownbag, but I did a Google search and came up with 237 Dixie Supply's. Got an address or number by any chance? Thanks.

We looked at some copper shingles a while back . The one product I was most interested in was the Flat Lock Panel by Una-Clad. Check out http://www.UNACLAD.com
They have Square, Diamond and Rectangular. Make sure you are sitting when you get the quote.
