I am looking for suggestions as to the best cordless tool kits. The Makita 7 piece set is on sale here but maybe someone can suggest something else? I use them 5 days a week so heavy duty is a must.
Thanks for the help….

Makita 18v Li-Ion. Fantastic stuff.
Do the batteries stand up over long use and multiple charges?
I've owned my cordless kit for over a year now. Great battery life in my experience. Powerful. Light. Long run times. The best ergonomics. The LED lights, which I though were gimmicky, are actually very useful.
Thanks for the help.
Glad to help.I own a variety of brands of cordless tools (other than Mak., mostly Bosch) and so far nothing else I've owned or used comes very close the Makita Li-Ion.
one of my guys here has a Mak 18V LI kit, had about 6 months or so now, and it's great. I've only used the tools a handfull of times but never been disapointed and he likes them a whole lot better then his older Bosch 18V set.
I have the same Bosch 18v Nicad set and it's a good set but I'd never buy it again against a LI set
the new dewalt ions are due out in a few months. might want to wait since dewalt has more tools than other companies.
I keep hearing that, and hearing that. But so far no proof. Any chance you can tell me for certain? I also heard that the new batts will fit the old tools, didja hear that too?
getting tired of waiting.
Me Too.
I am starting to lose battery life in my 18v DW and can't decide whether to buy more or hold on for the lithiums.

The dewalts are supposed to be released in Oct. The tools are supposed to have led lights like the makita's. Ryobi is also jumping on the boat with lithium's. their tools will be bright green and also released in october.
my dewalt nicads have seen their better days ... also looking forward to this update.
But WHO says that?Dewalt? I read here last winter, that DW was was gonna be havingthem in MAR 07...well..that wasn't true.
I don't remember who said it, but these rumours are just that, rumours ...so far no one has or will post a definitive proof.
And if DW won't have batts that work with the old tools ( that aren't that old) I think they are missing a real opportunity to show the world that THEY can be a leader in Tech. Else wise a lot of tools end up in landfills when the current platform of batts is totally phased out. They should set an example for the other tool makers, being as they have the MOST varied line of C-less tools followed by Ryobi. Or maybe Ryobi has taken the lead by now.
I've got the Makita LXT202. It's the hammerdrill and impact gun. It's awesome, one of the other guys keeps trying to make it disappear into his truck.
