i’m looking for a cordless 18ga finish nailer for light work (kitchen cabinet installs)
cycle time is not a concern, i spend more time cutting and fitting than nailing, neither is fastener/fuel cost, a typical kitchen might use 100 nails at the most
power is a concern, most of my cabinet trim is solid maple crown, toekick, etc etc
now i’m using a porter cable 18ga with 150 lb compressor and would love to leave that at home

Steve, since you have the gun, you might consider one of the real small, lightwt compressors.

my trimpulse will sometimes come up short in hardwoods (i do a lot of the same work you speak of), so i end up busting out the compressor anyway. i've been thinking of getting the senco 23 gauge pin nailer kit with that teeny compressor, and running that and the finish nailer off it. it's so adorable, and if you don't have a pin nailer, that's what i'd recommend you do. i use the trimpulse for everything but hardwood trim, though.
I have a buddy who has the 12 volt senco 18G he's let me use it a few times. Works great. even in oak and maple. If I decide to buy one it will be either that gun or the 18 volt dewalt (if only because I already have the batteries).
A lot of guys like those paslodes but I personally can't stand the stink, not to mention I just don't think breathing exhaust fumes inside the house is such a wise idea.
JLC has at least one article on cordless nailers - go their 'research' section and search for it. IIRC, they recommended a DeWalt.
why not a paslode. calvin i was debating this with you some time ago. paslode vs senco small compressor went with the paslode. love it. oh the freedom from the hose!!
