Yes it will hold up to commercial traffic but because of it's high thermal resistant qualities I do not recommend it over radiant heat.
Gabe
*Gabe that was my thought also but would it be worse than say wool carpet and pad? I was thinking of the sound deadning that it would supply.
*Don,You're right in that it would be about the same. It's not that a thermal resistance of 1 or 1.5 will make a big difference but it will feel warmer than other floorings. Are you using radiant floor heating as your sole source of heat?A cork floor will feel warm to the touch without heating by returning your own body heat. It's very nice for bedrooms for this reason.Gabe
*Cork flooring is probably the most comfortable floor to walk on and is 'ding' resistant and also abrasion resistant. It is boring to look at, although you can color it. The normal adhesives used wouldn't stand up to floor heating and I'm with Gabe on this, in fact I'd go further -- I don't see the point in putting any thermal barrier over floor heating, which was introduced in Scandinavia for use under tiled floors.
*I will be using raiant floor heat as the only heat sorce. It was just a thought, something different. Back to hard wood. thanks
