Corugated Drain tube vs perforated pvc
I have done a lot of reading, but need a few sanity checks. I am installing an interior french drain and plan on using perforated pvc pipe instead of the black corrugated tube. Does this make sense?
Also, I plan on using 4 inches of 3/4″ stone as a base with the pipe above then an additional 4 inches of stone. The landscape fabric or equal would be on the outer perimeter of the trench.
A sanity check is requested, (on the drain, not me).

the PVC drains water much better than the corrugated.
Any reason for taht much putting the gravel below the pipe? Jsut means that much more water retained prior to draining via the pipe, right? Is this a new slab or retro work?
Thanks. This is retro. ~100 yr old house with thin concrete floor. More than willing to accept suggestions on how much stone to use.
You have it correct with some notes not to forget and a suggestion. You don't need to add 4 inches below the pipe since a thin layer of 3/4 (say an inch or two) below the pipe will do just fine. Second, once the trench is dug (slope to drain or daylight)add a layer of drain cloth to the bottom of the trench and up the sides before adding the first layer of gravel. Lay the pipe with the holes down then cover with with four inches of gravel or how ever much cover you desire. Fold the cloth over the gravel then fill with soil to grade and you'll have a drain that will last many years without filling with silt.
Consider adding the drain pipe "sock" over the pipe itself. Added protection from debris getting inside the pipe and making a blockage.
Make sure you also have enough overlap of the landscape fabric.
