I am cutting into an existing 4″ dwv line (subgrade) for a new unit. The only way I know of to handle a cut-in line like this is with a coupler (if there’s working room which there isn’t) or a no-hub/ hubless coupler that will slide over the two abutting pieces. My concern is with the hose-clamp style bands on the hubless do not appear to be rated for direct burial on would rust off in not much time. So….
a) any other options I haven’t considered (like a slip coupler or such?)
b) any experience or feedback regarding burying these hubless couplers and their projected/ expected longevity and suitability in this application?
Thanks,
David

No-hub cast iron soil pipe directly burried with no-hub couplings is industry standard in commercial work.
Those "hose clamps" are stainless steel, & rated for direct burry.
I fear no man & only one GOD. Me
Thanks, they appeared to me to be of lesser quality than SS (like zinc-coated).

and if they rust off, who care, its not going no where.
