I am remodeling my kitchen and have a different cabinet layout than originally. The floor register used to be under the cabinets and now is open in the kitchen (see photo). This is on a slab and I want to abandon the floor register and install LVP over top.
this register is still active but is not needed for heat supply (other registers are in the kitchen).
how do I properly abandon this register? I’ve heard to use foam or concrete but worried about expansion. Since the opening is only about 3” wide, could I just keep it open and install flooring over top? Just making a “hot spot” on the floor?
please help!
