Hi
I usually leave Z flash exposed and paint to match siding. I have seen some houses that have horizontal boards covering the flashing. Technically the lip of the flashing should go over the board but it looks like they just covered it over. Anyone have experience with doing this? I may call the inspection dept to see if they will haslle me about it. If I cover it, I will rip a slope into the top of the horizontal trim and cauk like mad.

I can think of at least three ways to use Z flash for diff things. Where is this? Door and window heads?

The Z flash is on RS ply with verticle 1x6 battens. Gable ends are most exposed

I used z flash on my T1-11 for my shed and if they just cover it over it rot out the back of the cover board in no time because the valley lines in it are blocked by the flash and create pools of water.
It the siding is smooth I think that you could install the flash and move the downhill edge out a little to catch the top of your beveled cover board.
As piffin says there are other ways to use the stuff but these are the two that come to mind.

If for a seam in T1-11, I would not cover it.

I know what you are saying and I didn't cover mine --mostly because I didn't want to cut down each sheet just to get the seam to land in line with the horz. banding on the gable ends. And also because I saw the problem with the vert lines being blocked by the z flash.Once I painnted the shed with its transom window and other details I really didn't care if you could find the z flash --after all it was the same color as the wall anyways.Mike

You could put the 20,000th post up for auction. High bidder's choice of thread and recipient. Wouldn't be any stranger than the adult actress who auctioned off her K cups.
I'll trade you my #330 for your # 1892......Mike
